G&C Mutual Bank is an Australian owned Credit Union proudly run by its members. Launching in 1959, SGE Credit Union now has over 36,000 members. In its 55 years of operation G&C Mutual Bank have undergone 8 name changes as well as 18 mergers with other Credit Unions. FY14, G&C Mutual Bank total assets stood at $651m, members equity $75.88m and an annual profit after tax $2.84m.
In June, 2014 G&C Mutual Bank welcomed its members to its newly refurbished head office in Sydney CBD. The relocation of G&C Mutual Bank’s head office was driven by the need to upgrade its services and facilities for its members and staff. Previously situated in a heritage listed building, the age & condition of the building was in poor condition and could no longer satisfy G&C Mutual Bank’s Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) obligations. The relocation in addition offered SGE Credit Union the opportunity to review their WHS strategies and modernise their current procedures.
Part of any well-established WHS routine includes a formal sign-in procedure for Staff, Visitors and Contractors. Like many organisations G&C Mutual Bank used a physical sign-in booked located at the entrance point of the facility. These traditional sign-in books however need to be actively managed by personal to ensure they are accurate and up to date. Not only do sign-in books require constant monitoring but traditional sign-in books bear ongoing associated costs; in addition serious penalties can be enforced by regulatory bodies for discrepancies within these records, especially if an injury, fatality or emergency occurs.
G&C Mutual Bank could see the value of streamlining it’s sign-in process with the TIKS Visitor Management Solution. TIKS Visitor is an intuitive application that remembers guests making form filling easy for staff and frequent visitors. G&C Mutual Bank’s Administration Staff log-in to an online portal where visitor data can be managed effectively. Reporting capabilities such as people currently signed-in and those who have signed out can be generated as PDF report’s and sent to HSEC managers. The solution is efficient, cost effective and sleek, which paired with G&C Mutual Bank’s forward outlook. Deployed in early September, 2014 TIKS Visitor Management is now used at G&C Mutual Bank’s Sydney head office on an iPad system.
